EThekwini Municipality is a metropolitan municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Created in 2000, it includes the coastal city of Durban and its surrounding towns and rural areas. The Zulu word eThekwini means “ocean and bay lagoon”. The landscape features a warm, subtropical climate, extensive beaches, hilly regions, gorges, and ravines. The municipality’s composition of urban, semi-urban, and rural environments presents a challenge for sustainable development.
Job Purpose
- Responsible for the preparation, delivering and facilitation of integrated waste management/minimization educational programmes at grassroots level for community based structures, communities, schools, transport industry and all sectors of businesses, through disseminating of information, encouraging involvement in order to impact positively to the effectiveness of Waste management plan, sustainable development goals and to achieve eThekwini vision.
Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent and a certificate in one of the following fields:
- Environmental Public Relations Communication or any other related and equivalent certificate. Valid motor vehicle driving license. 3 Years relevant experience.
