About the Ya Rona Digital Programme
The Ya Rona Digital Programme is designed to improve digital literacy among South Africans by providing community-based training on essential digital skills.
Digital Ambassadors will undergo training in basic digital literacy modules and then transfer this knowledge to community members through structured learning sessions.
The programme focuses on helping individuals gain practical digital skills that can improve access to education, employment opportunities, government services and online resources.

Main Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of the Digital Ambassador position is to help improve digital literacy within local communities.
Successful candidates will receive training and then facilitate learning sessions that teach community members how to use basic digital tools and online services.
The programme aims to create digitally empowered communities that can benefit from technology in education, business and daily life.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Digital Ambassadors will be responsible for:
- Attending digital literacy training programmes
- Learning and applying digital skills modules
- Facilitating digital literacy training sessions
- Recruiting and mobilising community members
- Assisting participants with digital learning activities
- Creating weekly training schedules
- Maintaining attendance records
- Liaising with municipalities and community organisations
- Securing suitable training venues
- Achieving weekly training targets
- Reporting programme progress to management
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
- Computer literacy
- South African citizenship
- 1 to 2 years of work experience in any field

- National Certificate Vocational (NCV)
- NATED qualification
- Occupational Certificate
