Road Accident Fund (RAF)

The Road Accident Fund is a social security Fund that provides compensation to all drivers of motor vehicles in South Africa in respect of liability incurred or damage caused as a result of a traffic collision. Liability incurred in relation to property damage (such as damage to vehicles, buildings, vehicle contents) is excluded from cover. The Road Accident Fund operates a system whereby the claimant is assigned a percentage of responsibility for the accident, and the Road Accident Fund pays the claimant a percentage of a full settlement based on a percentage that was not deemed to be their responsibility.

Purpose of the Job

The Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Key Performance Areas

Compliance Administration

  • Maintain updated documentation for departmental business activities.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and standards.
  • Adhere to internal control measures and organizational goals.

Office Coordination

  • Manage correspondence, filing, and telephonic queries.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of office matters.
  • Assist with follow-ups and outstanding matters.
  • Ensure timely response to requests and maintain organized records.
  • Oversee stationery supply and validate submitted documents for accuracy.
  • Prevent duplicate entries and ensure accurate document capturing.

Meeting Support

  • Arrange and confirm meetings.
  • Record and distribute minutes as per governance standards.
  • Maintain follow-up plans for unresolved matters.
  • Manage team diaries and stakeholder appointments.

Document and Records Management

  • Administer record-keeping and filing per the RAF filing plan.
  • Retrieve requested information efficiently.
  • Maintain confidentiality of documents and ensure secure delivery.
  • Record data accurately on computer systems.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Requirement: Matric or Grade 12 Certificate
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an administrative role or similar environment
