As the Manager for Batch Automation, you are the product owner of the Control-M software and Batch Automation service. You are required to manager a team of Control-M Schedulers working on the Mainframe and Distributed environment to deliver the above services and therefore a strong people management background is required.
Other key aspects of the role are professional vendor management, managerial accounting, expense management, risk management and a strong technical understanding of the software tools utilised to deliver the services.

- Management of all aspects of the role to ensure service availability and stability
- Strategic workforce planning and line management of direct reports.
- Manage the risk and execution of planned changes.
- Budget planning, build and hands-on expense management against planned budgets.
- Management of software and resources utilised to deliver the role services, including suppliers.
- Consistent optimisations and improvement of infrastructure (hardware and software) resources, processes and people productivity.
Essential Qualifications – NQF Level
- Matric
- Management Undergraduate Diploma or Degree (NQF 6-7)
Preferred Certifications
- Any technical certification related to the service delivery of the role would be advantageous.
Minimum Experience Level
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of managing vendors / suppliers
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of managing technical teams
- Minimum 5 years IT Operations experience
Advantageous experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing managers
- 10+ years IT Operations Experience and 5+ years Job Relevant
- ITIL Foundations certification preferred
- SAFe Agile training and/or certification
- Experience with developing 3 year strategic plans to align technology selection with TCO and ROI objectives
- Strong knowledge of IT operations, 24×7 shift operations and batch automation using the applicable tools
