Role Description: Port/Valet

Steyn City Hotel by Saxon

The Port/Valet will play a vital role in providing exceptional guest experiences, combining transportation services with guest assistance and information sharing. Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving guests safely within and outside the estate as needed, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey.
  • Assisting guests with luggage during arrivals, departures, and room changes.
  • Providing guests with detailed information about the hotel, its facilities, and the estate’s attractions.
  • Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and ensuring their needs are promptly met.
  • Assisting with valet parking services, including retrieving and parking guest vehicles with care.
  • Conducting regular rounds to be available for guest assistance and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance their stay.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and readiness of hotel vehicles and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Supporting the front office team with concierge-style services, such as booking reservations, arranging transportation, or facilitating special requests.

Requirements:

  • A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-focused attitude.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • A proactive approach to guest service and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
