The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a public entity report to the Department of Higher Education and Training. NSFAS provides academic bursaries to South African citizens plan to study at any of the 26 public universities and 50 public TVET colleges throughout the country.

How to Apply for NSFAS 2025

  1. Create a MyNSFAS Account: Visit the NSFAS portal at https://my.nsfas.org.za/ and register for a MyNSFAS account. You will need to provide your ID number, email address, and phone number.

  3. Submit Supporting Documents: You will need to upload the following documents:
    • Certified copy of your ID
    • Parent or guardian’s certified ID copies (if applicable)
    • Proof of income or affidavit (for parents/guardians or yourself if unemployed)
    • Disability certificate (if applicable)
    • Recent academic results
