Midvaal has undergone a radical change from quaint country area to booming tourist, recreational and industrial centre in Southern Gauteng. We have proven our mettle in the multi billion-rand investments that have come to Midvaal (Heineken). Midvaal has grown from 60 000 residents in 2001 to 100 000 today.

Midvaal Municipality is offering bursaries to deserving students for the 2025 academic year. These bursaries aim to provide financial assistance to students who are pursuing tertiary qualifications in South Africa.

Eligibility Criteria:

To apply, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • South African Citizenship: You must be a South African citizen.
  • Matriculation Status: You should either be currently in Matric or have already completed it.
  • First-Year Undergraduate: You must be entering your first year of full-time undergraduate study in 2025.
  • University/Institution Acceptance: You must have received confirmation of your acceptance to study at a South African university or any other institution of higher learning.
  • No Other Bursary: You should not be receiving any other bursary funding.

Required Documents:

Make sure to submit the following documents as part of your application:

  1. Completed Application Form: Available for download.
  2. Recommendation Letter: From your Ward Councillor.
  3. Certified ID Copies: Both your ID and those of your parents/guardians.
  4. Certified Copy of Matric/Academic Results: If you have already completed Matric, include your results.
  5. Letter of Acceptance from Institution: Must include the registration amount and bank details.
  6. Proof of Residence: A recent document verifying where you reside.
  7. Parent/Guardian Proof of Income: Provide proof of income, or an affidavit if your parents or guardians are unemployed.

  1. Download the bursary application form from the official website or office.
  2. Gather all the required documentation.
  3. Submit your completed application in person at the Office of the Executive Mayor.
