KEY OUTPUTS

  • Compilation and distribution of the daily theatre list to all relevant departments including Anaesthetic firms.
  • Allocation of time slots to regular supporting doctors.
  • Booking of theatre cases in line with approved block bookings, or on an ad hoc basis.
  • Obtaining theatre lists from supporting surgeon’s secretaries.
  • Avoidance of double bookings of both theatres and/or equipment.
  • Assist Hospital manager in arranging loan equipment or surgical representatives.
  • Arrange and provide Hospital quotations on request.
  • Assist with theatre billing process.
  • Responsible for orientation and supervision of staff where applicable.
  • Management of general theatre enquiries.
  • Inform Hospital Manager and Marketer of new doctors.
  • Circulate theatre list daily list.
  • Ensure client satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience as Theatre Bookings Clerk.
  • Knowledge of surgical products and theatre equipment.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • High level effective planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with other team members.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Experience with scheduling and time management.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in accordance with the operational needs within the functional unit.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Consistent ethical behaviour.
  • Ability to resolve conflict in a constructive manner and negotiate acceptable solutions between stakeholders.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
  • Own vehicle.
