Job Purpose
- The Western Cape Mobility Department, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render financial support services within the department.
Minimum Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification) with Accounting or Mathematics as passed subjects.
Recommendation
- Experience in a financial accounting and/or management accounting working environment.
Key Performance Areas
- Cashier duties; Banking services; Bookkeeping duties; Provide personnel administration clerical support services within the component.
Competencies
- A good understanding of the following: financial functions, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collate financial statistics; Public Service financial legislations, procedures and processes, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), 1999, (DORA, PSA, PSR, PPPFA, Financial Manual); Public Service Act, 1994, as amended; Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997; Legislative framework governing the Public Service; Working procedures in terms of the working environment; Financial operating systems; Database Management; Information and Records Management; Skills needed: Written and verbal communication; Proven computer literacy (MS Office); Planning and Organising; Record Keeping; Problem-solving; Interpersonal Relations; Flexibility; Teamwork; Accuracy; Aptitude of Figures; Ability to perform routine tasks; Ability to operate office equipment.
