uMkhanyakude Municipality invites graduates to apply for Financial Management Internships for 2025. The uMkhanyakude District Municipality is offering six (6) Financial Management Internship opportunities on a two-year contract, with a remuneration package of R100,000.00 per annum (all-inclusive). This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates looking to gain practical financial management experience within local government.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• National Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance
• Good computer literacy (especially Microsoft Excel and Word)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
• Must be self-motivated and a team player
• No prior experience is required — full training will be provided
• Ability to handle confidential information

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier and third-party payments
• Reconcile supplier accounts and bank statements
• Record and file invoices and payment documentation
• Maintain payroll operations and ensure confidentiality
• Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and preparation of Annual Financial Statements
• Implement supply chain management policies
• Support procurement processes and purchase order issuance
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
