uMkhanyakude Municipality invites graduates to apply for Financial Management Internships for 2025. The uMkhanyakude District Municipality is offering six (6) Financial Management Internship opportunities on a two-year contract, with a remuneration package of R100,000.00 per annum (all-inclusive). This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates looking to gain practical financial management experience within local government.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- National Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Good computer literacy (especially Microsoft Excel and Word)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
- Must be self-motivated and a team player
- No prior experience is required — full training will be provided
- Ability to handle confidential information

Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier and third-party payments
- Reconcile supplier accounts and bank statements
- Record and file invoices and payment documentation
- Maintain payroll operations and ensure confidentiality
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and preparation of Annual Financial Statements
- Implement supply chain management policies
- Support procurement processes and purchase order issuance
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
