The Municipal Financial Management Internship Programme is a structured, professional training and work experience programme aimed at providing high-quality training and practical exposure in key areas of the Finance Directorate. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience in municipal financial management, focusing on revenue, expenditure, financial control, asset management, budget control, and supply chain management.

Minimum Requirements

• Three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with major subjects in:
  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Risk Management
  • Auditing
• Computer literacy
• Good communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans, English, or isiXhosa)
• Valid Code B Driver’s Licence

Key Performance Areas

• Perform programme-driven tasks related to municipal financial management
• Gain exposure in revenue, expenditure, asset management, budget control, and supply chain management

Important Notes

• Applicants will be subjected to reference checks, qualification verification, and criminal record checks.
• A valid SAPS Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months) or proof of application must be submitted with the application and provided on the date of the interview.
