The Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS) is a South African public entity established to regulate, monitor, and provide an alternative dispute resolution service for community schemes.

The Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS) is a South African public entity established to regulate, monitor, and provide an alternative dispute resolution service for community schemes. These schemes include sectional title developments, homeowners’ associations, retirement villages, and share block companies. Providing a quick and affordable way to resolve disagreements within community schemes, such as those related to finances, governance, behavior, and scheme rules.

The Community Schemes Ombud Service Act (Act 9 of 2011) was promulgated on 11 June 2011 and established the CSOS as a public entity. It is classified as a Schedule 3A Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). CSOS provides dispute resolution, regulation, and training services to promote good governance in community schemes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Marketing Intern, you will:

  • Provide support with internal and external communication.
  • Assist in creating and curating content for social media, newsletters, and the website.
  • Support planning, coordination, and execution of events, campaigns, and exhibitions.
  • Conduct research to support communication initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
  • Assist with media monitoring, clipping, and compiling reports.
  • Maintain and update content calendars.
  • Support development of presentations, reports, and communication materials.
  • Assist in capturing and organizing photographs and multimedia content.
  • Provide administrative support, including minute-taking.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Have completed Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma in one of the following fields:
    • Marketing
    • Public Relations
    • Communications
    • Journalism
    • Media Studies
    • Graphic Design
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Must not be permanently employed.
  • Must not have previously participated in an internship programme.
