While the company has international origins, the South African business is well-known locally and distributes its products throughout Southern Africa. Cerebos is a market leader in retail salt and also supplies salt to the food manufacturing sector through its industrial business.

Cerebos is urgently recruiting two Analytical Chemistry Interns for a 12-month programme at IDZ Coega. The roles focus on routine chemical analyses, solution preparation, equipment calibration, quality control, and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests and analyse chemical samples accurately.
• Prepare and standardise chemical solutions.
• Calibrate and verify laboratory equipment daily.
• Record, report, and interpret results per SOPs.
• Perform product inspections to maintain quality standards.
• Dispose of waste in line with SHEQ procedures.
• Monitor lab stock levels and maintain housekeeping.
• Participate in required training/meetings.
• Follow reasonable instructions to support operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12.
• National Diploma or Degree in Analytical Chemistry.
• Knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
