Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is a South African public entity established to provide strategic leadership and development to the country's construction industry.
The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is a South African public entity established to provide strategic leadership and development to the country’s construction industry. It was created by the CIDB Act of 2000. The CIDB maintains a national Register of Contractors, which is mandatory for any contractor who wants to bid on public sector construction projects. Registration includes a grading system based on a contractor’s financial and works capability, which determines the maximum value of projects they can undertake. The online eRoC system facilitates this process.
The CIDB Internship Programme provides an excellent opportunity for unemployed graduates to gain valuable workplace experience that complements their academic qualifications. The programme runs for 24 months, and successful applicants will be required to sign an internship contract for the full duration.
