The Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (BCMM) is a Category A municipality situated on the east coast of South Africa in the Eastern Cape province. It was established in 2000 as a local municipality and became a metropolitan municipality in 2011. The municipality includes the cities and towns of East London, King William’s Town, Bhisho, and Mdantsane. King William’s Town and Bhisho serve as the provincial administrative hubs and contain the seat of the provincial government of the Eastern Cape.

The Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (BCMM) has officially opened applications for its 2025/2027 Internship Programme, a valuable opportunity for unemployed graduates across the Eastern Cape to gain hands-on work experience within local government structures.

This initiative falls under the Human Resource Performance and Development (HRP&D) division and aims to empower youth through practical exposure and skills development. Successful candidates will be appointed for a two-year contract, gaining experience aligned with their field of study while contributing to effective municipal service delivery.
