The Area FinOps Manager is accountable to drive FbM L&S FinOps performance in the Area and ensure that there is a constant balance of focus and performance across customer, user experience, efficiency, control, and cost of operating FinOps. This role is focused on L&S FinOps – WnD, Depot, Middle Mile and Last Mile Transport, and Cold Store and Revenue items.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the FINOPS execution structure in the Area in partnership with the GSC FinOps leads:
    • Direction setting (annual KPIs and targets)
    • Visibility (performance management and standard process execution dashboards) with supporting data to drive collaborative engagement / improvement
    • Contributing with insights and expert guidance to Area and GSC FinOps teams
    • Process and Performance Management
    • Manage a team of FinOps Agents
  • Setting clear roles and responsibilities for end-to-end FinOps execution across Area and GSC; ensuring clear targets and regular performance engagements
  • Identify gaps in FinOps and establish / guide process or performance projects with rigorous follow-up and status reporting to Area FbM leadership
  • Define and deliver (with SME) functional training for FinOps teams in Area and GSC
  • Partner with GSC leadership and develop the FINOPS teams in the GSC and Area
  • Engage actively with Sales to ensure compliance to upstream processes; incl. timely update and proper filing of rate cards, and contract filing in Cashbox
  • Work closely with FbM colleagues and Accounts Payable team to ensure correct costs are allocated timeously and vendors are paid within agreed terms
  • Collaborate with FbM teams and Finance BCO to ensure RICC compliance across identified controls
  • Monitor and control Empty Cost expenses (Positioning Costs) in the Area and work with Execution teams (landside and Vendor Management) to ensure that effective controls are in place
  • Monitor and control accurate Revenue and Cost reporting.
  • P&L reviews with FbM leadership teams.
  • Conduct, monitor and control Cost versus Revenue across L&S and specific Ocean products (Demurrage, Late Arrivals, Multi-stops, etc.).

ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Overall FbM FinOps performance in the Country / Area.
  • Setting process improvement priorities – with CI – based on root-cause action planning with GSC
  • Engagement with BCO and 3rd party suppliers on performance and escalations relating to FinOps

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or relevant financial qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Ocean and Logistics
  • Broad Maersk FinOps functional and process acumen
  • Strong analytical capabilities; translatable to root cause / problem solving
  • Business performance management
