South Africa Wine is a newly created non-profit company that from 1 July 2023 provides critical support services to the wine and brandy industry value chain role players to enable the industry to become more robust, transformed, agile and competitive.
Bursaries will be awarded for studies related to viticulture, oenology, wine business, or any supporting qualification that contributes to the wine industry (based on industry needs):
- Agriculture: Cellar Technology (Diploma)
- Agriculture: Cellar Technology (BSc)
- Agriculture: Viticulture and Oenology (BSc)
- Agricultural Economics (BSc)
- Agriculture in Oenology (MSc)
- Agriculture in Viticulture (MSc)
- Cellar Technology / Cellar Management (BAgric)
- Microbiology (BSc)
- Other related fields
Bursary Coverage and Benefits
The bursary will cover tuition fees.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident
- Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Must be studying or intending to study towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above
- Must be enrolled or planning to enrol at a recognised and accredited South African institution
- Must have a passion for and commitment to the wine industry
- Must NOT already be receiving another bursary, scholarship, or funding award
- Must be unemployed
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply

- Passport & proof of permanent residence (if applicable)
- Matric certificate (if completed)
- Latest academic transcripts & 2025 mid-year results
- Proof of tertiary registration for 2025
- Proof of residential address (certified)
- Motivational letter explaining why you should be awarded the bursary
- Estimated quote of 2026 tuition fees (including accommodation, tuition, and study materials)
- Costing breakdown Excel Sheet (completed & uploaded)
- Marks breakdown Excel Sheet (completed & uploaded)
- Sworn Affidavit (signed at police station)
- POPI Act agreement (signed at police station)
- Proof of disability, if applicable
