We areseeking an analytical individual with a background in BI/Business Analysis, a passion for ERP/Reporting systems, and expertise as a Syspro super user to join our Commercial team as a Business Analyst (Finance). This position is based in Pretoria West (office based) and reports to the Commercial Manager. The role’s purpose is to serve as the business support advisor and Super User for the Syspro ERP and Reporting environment within the Baking Business Unit. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Business to identify, design, and specify application solutions that meet business requirements, and facilitate the implementation of these solutions using recognized project management methodologies.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or related relevant qualification, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Business Analyst in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvements and digital transformation projects.
- Demonstrated experience with Syspro
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using business analysis tools and methodologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization tools is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of the FMCG industry will be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of how IT systems integrate with daily business operations.
- Proven track record in facilitating cross-departmental projects and business process improvement.
- Has knowledge and proven work experience in SQL queries and Power BI
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide support to end users in resolving ERP-related issues within the Baking Business Unit, with a focus on financial matters.
- Assist end users in accessing and understanding ERP reports, data, and table information.
- Clearly define problems and collaborate with technical experts and external consultants to address technical ERP issues.
- Partner with the learning team and super users to deliver and, when necessary, conduct training sessions for end users on both existing and new ERP functionalities.
System Functionality:
- Document and communicate new processes to stakeholders in the specified format.
- Collaborate with the learning team and super users to deliver and conduct end user training on new and existing capabilities.
- Conduct user acceptance testing with the IT department and business super users.
- Create and maintain user training manuals and standard operating procedures with business super users and the learning team.
- Assess user knowledge and skills post-training and analyze reports to identify training needs.
System Opportunity Identification:
- Support the Commercial Manager – Projects, Application Manager, and the Business in identifying IT application solutions to address key business requirements.
- Quantify savings and efficiencies related to these opportunities and draw up Business Case documentation for submission to the Commercial Manager – Projects.
- Monitor project progress to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery and performance standards.
BI, Application Development, Enhancement and Implementation:
- Act as a liaison between the Business and IT department/external consultants to implement identified system enhancements.
- Collaborate with Business representatives to gather, understand, and document detailed project requirements.
- Facilitate business process re-engineering initiatives and implement effective solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive business cases by analyzing potential benefits, costs, and risks to support informed decision-making and secure stakeholder approval.
- Develop and agree on a scope definition document, ensuring full sign-off before implementation. Compile and store project documentation, including business process flow charts, end-user training materials, standard operating procedures, and change controls.
- Maintain constant communication with developers and conduct thorough testing to identify and resolve issues before Business user acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure solutions align with business goals, focusing on data-driven solutions like Microsoft Power BI.
- Work with the Business to implement the solution and provide post-implementation support to all end users, particularly for financial support.
