South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is a Schedule 3A public entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (“PFMA”). It was established on the 1st of October 1998, following the enactment of the now repealed South African Civil Aviation Authority Act,1998 (Act No.40 of 1998).

Description
Process Applications
- Receive application package and evaluate the package for completeness.
- The package should specify the design Standards and airworthiness requirements according to which the aircraft type was certified.
- Draw specific aircraft file record and ascertain any outstanding documentation and information, pertinent to application.
- Engages with owner, Aircraft Maintenance Organisation concerning outstanding information, documentation, inspection reports and applicable fees.
- Develop annual oversight plans and safety promotion plans.
Certificates
- When satisfied that the relevant requirements are met, will issue the C of A.
- Forward completed certificate for checking, authorisation and signature.
- Contact applicant to arrange forwarding or collection of certificates.
Records
- Maintain and update all databases affecting currency fees (i.e. Great Plains, Aircraft Register), Certificates of Airworthiness, payments and aircraft files.
Administrative/Coordination
- Conduct any administrative and/or coordination function as may be allocated by management from time to time.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Certificate or Diploma in Administration or Office Management
Experience
- 3 Years in Administration role
