Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant qualification
• Valid driver’s licence
• Good communication skills

Key Performance Areas

As an Electrical Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with planning, scheduling, and coordinating EEDSM (Energy Efficiency Demand Side Management) project activities
• Collecting and analyzing energy consumption and efficiency data
• Supporting the development of energy-efficient solutions
• Assisting with technical specifications for energy-efficient equipment
• Preparing reports on findings and recommendations
• Coordinating with contractors, vendors, and municipal staff
• Performing electrical operations such as:
  • Cable laying, conductor preparation, and pole installations
  • Terminating cables and wires, soldering, and fitting lugs
  • Using handheld equipment (e.g., jackhammers, power tools) for installations
  • Assisting in the erection and installation of poles, aerial transformers, and switchgear
