Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Red Seal Electrician
- Familiarity with management principles and job card systems.
- Ability to manage a team of 30+ employees across multiple departments simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with proven problem-solving ability.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- A team player with strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Mechanical background would be advantageous.
- Experience within the poultry industry will be highly beneficial.
- Minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all Plumbing, Ground Maintenance, Vehicle Checks, Minor Electrical Fault Finding, Routine Inspections, and general facilities upkeep.
- Oversee and coordinate electrical maintenance and troubleshooting in line with Red Seal Electrician competency, ensuring compliance with electrical safety regulations.
- Plan, delegate, and coordinate service-related procedures and systems; develop and implement ways to streamline processes on farm.
- Assess staff performance, provide coaching, training, and guidance to maximize productivity.
- Ensure smooth and efficient flow of information within the company to facilitate effective operations.
- Manage schedules, deadlines, and workflow across multiple departments.
- Monitor inventory, plan and coordinate purchasing of materials/supplies/parts, while keeping within budget constraints.
- Track and control departmental costs and expenses to assist in budget preparation.
- Ensure all preparation and washing duties are carried out to the highest standard.
- Enforce and monitor strict compliance with bio-security standards and procedures.
- Conduct weekly reviews of all job cards/inspections and ensure proper follow-up on outstanding items.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports for the Farm Manager/Operations Manager.
- Manage HR/IR-related matters such as leave planning, time sheets, and disciplinary processes.
- Candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, standby and weekends as per operational requirements.
