The area is home to some of the world’s oldest and richest working gold mines, which date back to a gold rush in the 1880s. The current operations are owned and managed by Pan African Resources.

Description

  •    Oversee the monthly financial reporting process and submissions. Provide requisite analysis for financial manager for reporting
  •    Lead and manage the Financial Accounting Team to meet daily, weekly, monthly, Half year and year end deliverables.
  •    Ensure knowledge and adherence of all Finance related policies
  •    Facilitate and monitor the external and internal audit processes
  •    Understand technical Normal and Royalty Taxation principles to complete annual tax computation and relevant returns.
  •    Understand Deferred Taxation and run monthly calculation for month end reporting purposes
  •    Keep up to date with relevant IFRS accounting standards to ensure application thereof.
  •    Monitors the creditors cycles to ensure timeous processing and disbursements are done
  •    Stand-in or represent the Financial Manager where applicable
  •    Perform any other duties as required by the Financial Manager
  •    Work in harmony with other Finance HOD’s (i.e. Procurement, payroll, Management accounting etc) to ensure requisite service to internal and external  stakeholders

Requirements

  • NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) qualification in Financial Accounting/ Financial Management
  • Post graduate qualification will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 6 years Financial Accounting or Financial Management accounting experience
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office. Very pro-efficient in Excel.
  • Strong ERP system knowledge and experience (Preferably Dynamics 365 ERP or similar)
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Accuracy and high methodical working methods
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Work under pressure
  • Valid certificate of physical fitness
