Henwil was established in 2002 as an abattoir. When financial difficulties threatened its existence the 13 chicken farmers who depended on the abattoir then established a company and bought the facilities to become stakeholders in the truest sense of the word. Following a R100 million expansion project funded through a combination of accumulated reserves and loans: The company owns a fleet of 40 vehicles, including refrigerated trucks, live bird trucks and bulk feed tankers. We also operate a centralised feed mill and are in the process of erecting a new feed mill that will replace the existing one with sufficient capacity to meet the Henwil growers’ demands.

Minimum Requirements
Requirements:

·         Grade 12/National Senior Certificate is required.

·         Valid driver’s license.

·         Business Management qualification or relevant qualification will be advantageous.

·         Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Retail Store Manager is required.

·         Retail experience managing multiple stores would be beneficial.

·         Excellent communication, organisational and strategy skills.

·         Leadership and decision-making ability.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
·        Ensure all business operations are conducted in accordance with the company standard.

·        Oversee and coordinate business operations of the retail store to achieve financial goals and operational targets.

·        Influence team members to be customer oriented, effective, productive and knowledgeable.

·        Build constructive and effective relationships with multiple departments and stakeholders.

·        Ability to identify areas for performance improvement.

·        Partnering with the Sales and Marketing division to support, validate and strategize marketing initiatives and events.

·        Development and implementing of possible new business ventures.

·        Analytical mindset and problem-solving skill to positively impact business.

·        Assist managing both the Henwil Chickens Retail Store as well as the Galito’s section.
