South African Breweries (SAB) is the largest producer and distributor of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in South Africa . Founded in 1895, the company is now a direct subsidiary of the global brewing giant Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the export & Inbound process, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Manage documentation and paperwork required for inbound and export, including customs forms, shipping invoices, and export licenses
- Collaborate with suppliers and logistics providers to schedule and arrange shipments
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery, ensure GIT reporting is accurate and timeously closed out
- Resolve any issues or delays in the inbound or export process, such as customs clearance problems or transportation issues
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of inbound and export activities, physically and systematically
- Stay updated on international trade regulations and changes in inbound and export requirements
- Provide support and guidance to other team members involved in the inbound and export process
- Analyse and evaluate inbound and export operations to identify opportunities for productivity improvement
- Collect and analyse data related to inbound and export processes, such as shipping volumes, lead times, and transportation costs
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the inbound and export operations and develop strategies to address them
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvement initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies and make adjustments as necessary
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management
- End-to-End Payments process management ensuring correctness of Payments
- Validation and Reconciliation of Vendor payment submissions vs internal systems in line with proper Accrual Management practices
- Raising of Purchase Orders upon validation, GRN Purchase Orders and handling of queries and the related aspects relevant to Inbound & exports Payments
- Clearing of payment blocks impacting exports customer & imports accounts to ensure on time payment and reconciliation
- Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Analysing transportation costs and negotiating contracts with carriers to optimize freight rates
- Ensuring compliance with import and export regulations, including documentation, licensing, and customs requirements
- Managing relationships with customs brokers and freight forwarders to facilitate smooth customs clearance
- Conducting regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement in logistics processes
- Analysing data and generating reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and transportation costs
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
- Voyage management and closure
- Ensuring Import/Export query resolution
- Additional responsibilities as may be required
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in planning, Supply Chain Management or Logistics
- 3 – 5 years operational or planning experience in FMCG
- Deep Knowledge of NoCC Logistics and Planning processes, specifically inventory management
- Understanding of ABInBev Logistics and Planning principles
- Improvement through root cause and trends analysis using Belt methodology
