The Barberton Fairview Mine is a long-standing underground gold mine located in the Barberton Greenstone Belt in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Operated by Barberton Mines, a subsidiary of Pan African Resources, it is one of the oldest gold mines in the world, with over 130 years of history.
This Internship Learning Programme offers recent graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and professional exposure in Public Relations, Communications, and Media Studies.
Participants will work under mentorship within the Corporate Communications Department, contributing to the mine’s internal and external communications strategies while developing essential industry-ready skills.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African citizenship (valid SA ID required)
- BA Degree in Public Relations / Communications / Media Studies, recognised by SAQA
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to speak SiSwati fluently
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure
- Minimum 60% pass rate in final-year subjects (no failed subjects)
- Valid Barberton Mines Medical Fitness Certificate within 21 days of accepting the offer
- Clean criminal record
- A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage
