It is a standalone public entity under the oversight of the Department of Transport (DoT) and is mandated to ensure that South African civil aviation complies with the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
Key Performance Areas
- Assist in implementing an effective legal compliance program.
- Assist in compiling Compliance Risk Management Plans in order to identify gaps.
- Assist in developing and reviewing company policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
- Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
- Present training on applicable laws.
Outputs/Deliverables
- Assist in developing and implementing the POPIA compliance program.
- Monitor POPIA compliance.
- Regularly audit legal compliance in terms of company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
- Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
- Ensure all employees are educated/trained on the latest regulations and processes.
Requirements
Minimum Qualification
- Grade 12
- LLB Degree
- Compliance Certificate (Advantage)
- Served Articles (Preferred)
- Admitted Attorney (Advantage)
- Understanding of the Legal Compliance, Governance and Ethics (Advantage)
