Joe Gqabi Municipality is hiring EPWP Skilled Plumbers and Semi-Skilled Meter Installer.

Skilled Plumbers (x20 positions)

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ plumbing maintenance and infrastructure repair experience
• Valid Code B (or higher) Driver’s License
• Knowledge of municipal water and sanitation systems (advantageous)
• Physically fit and able to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain water connections
• Inspect plumbing systems for compliance
• Detect and fix leaks and tampering
• Maintain service quality as per municipal standards

Semi-Skilled Meter Installers (x45 positions)

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 9 or equivalent
• Experience in water meter installation/plumbing
• Familiarity with basic plumbing principles
• Ability to work outdoors and perform manual labour

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and replace water meters
• Assist in leak detection and report faults
• Ensure meter installations meet municipal guidelines
• Support plumbers and water service teams

General Requirements (Both Positions)

• Good communication skills
• Willingness to work extended hours
• Commitment to municipal service delivery
• Must reside in one of the towns where opportunities are advertised
