Job Description

  • Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Head Office has an opportunity available for a Loss Prevention Officer to join the team. The role is to monitor premises to reduce losses due to theft and fraud.
  • Conducts loss reduction programs, operational auditing, investigations and assists with prosecutions and ensure employees understand and follow policies and procedures for loss prevention and cash handling.

Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Matric
  • Grade B accreditation with the PSIRA
  • 2 years minimum experience in a similar environment

Advantageous:

  • Warehouse or Retail Security experience
  • PSIRA Grade A

Job Specification:

  • Monitor surveillance of exits and entrances, emergency exits, back rooms and delivery areas.
  • Keep an eye out for shoplifters who are hiding merchandise on their person, switching price tags or otherwise attempting to steal from the store.
  • Train and develop managers and store detectives in shortage control.
  • Build a team/partnership environment with Managers to ensure exceptional operational controls.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement to report or investigate crimes within the store.
  • Assist Human Resource Department with investigation.
  • Housekeeping must be in accordance to Dis-Chem standards. Make sure that your work station is always clean and tidy.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Uniform and personal appearance policy.

Competencies

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Relevant Acts, industry standards and training objectives
  • English – Read, Speak and Write
  • Trustworthy and Honest
  • 2nd Additional language.

Special conditions of employment:

  • South African citizen
  • MIE, clear criminal and credit
  • Driver’s license and/or own reliable transport
