Role Overview:

The role analyses data, produces insights and is responsible for visualising the data and storytelling through impact reports in various formats that will enable the division to understand and digest the results. This involves closely monitoring program performance, assessing its effectiveness, collecting valuable data, and providing actionable insights to improve programme outcomes.

Role Description / Key Performance Areas:

Operational Delivery:

  • Use relevant data visualisation designs to produce data reports that focus on communicating programme and District performance and impact as well as actionable insights the division can take to improve programme and District outcomes.
  • Integrate traditional research with data-driven insights.
  • Provide analytics-based support to division and various other Units.
  • Communicate and present analysis results to key stakeholders across organisational levels.
  • Quality assurance and deliver accurate reports on time.
  • Maintain and update platforms, dashboards, and reports.
  • Perform required checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist with the design and build of various reports.
  • Store data according to standards and agreed principles.

People Delivery:

  • Accountable for service delivery through own efforts.
  • Collaborate effectively with others to achieve personal, team, and program objectives.
  • Support other members of the MRF sub-division with all aspects of research, including data collection, capturing, cleaning and analysis.
  • Provide support to other team members in all aspects of the Division, related to data management and analysis.

Finance and Governance:

  • Complies with Finance and Risk management governances.
  • Ensure standard project practice and governances followed.
  • Ensure that data related activities adhere to ethical standards, regulations, and sector best practices.
  • Safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of research subjects and sensitive data

Qualifications required:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Education, Demography, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related disciplines.

Experience required:

  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in data analysis, preferably in the context of large-scale education programmes.
  • Proficiency in data collection methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis software including STATA, R, Tableau, Power Bi and others is preferred.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools.
  • Basic knowledge of impact assessment methodologies.
  • Understanding of data privacy and ethics principles when working with sensitive or personal data in the education sector.
  • Fundamental statistical concepts, such as mean, median, standard deviation, and hypothesis testing.
