The Nketoana Local Municipality was established in terms of Section 14 of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act No. 11 of 1998 and was published in Provincial Gazette No. 109 dated 28 September 2000. The Local Municipality is a category B municipality with a collective executive system as contemplated in Section 9 (b) of the Structures Act 1998 (Act 117 of 1998).
Nketoana Municipality: Financial Management Internships Programme (FMIP) 2025.
The Financial Management Internship Programme (FMIP) is a 24-month structured internship aimed at equipping young finance graduates with practical experience in municipal financial management. The programme is implemented under the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and aligned with the National Treasury’s capacity-building initiatives.
Internship Benefits

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens, aged 21–35 years
- Hold a National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Auditing, or related fields
- Have no prior formal public sector work experience
- Be willing to commit to a 24-month contract
- Demonstrate good personal skills and a customer-service orientation
Preference will be given to unemployed youth and previously disadvantaged individuals in line with Employment Equity objectives.
