Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Behavioural Sciences or HR Management.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Generalist in a mining / manufacturing People Management environment.
  • Specialist knowledge of SA labour legislation and Industrial Relations.
  • The ability to address employee relations professionally, consistently, fairly and with empathy.
  • MS Packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Sage 300
  • Candidates must be medically fit to perform duties (Determined by Occupational Medical Practitioner).
  • Ability to generate professional internal and external communication.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):

  • Provide an effective and efficient People generalist function for Afrimat Iron Ore.
  • Managing the recruitment and selection process in line with business needs.
  • Providing ongoing guidance and support to employees on Employee Relations matters.
  • Managing employee performance and individual training plans and processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative reporting requirements related to Employment
  • Equity and the Skills Development Act.
  • Provides People and Administrative support to the Site Leadership as and when required including monthly and weekly People related reports.
  • Oversee the Training and Development initiatives onsite with proper records retention.
  • Ensures confidentiality on employees’ records and information on site in alignment with the applicable legal requirements.
  • Participating in specific People projects and initiatives
