A vacancy has arisen for the position of Manufacturing Operator at Cape Town Plant within PIMMS Group. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and responsible individuals to fill the above-mentioned position.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES

  • • Grade 12/N3 (Math’s & English)
  • • Ability to communicate, read and write in English (pass company entry test)
  • • 2-3 years machine operating experience
  • • Basic Injection Moulding certificate
  • • Understanding of 6s
  • • Computer literate
  • • Injection Moulding Machine Setting certificate
  • • 3 years Injection Moulding Machine Setting experience

DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES

  • Operates plastic production machine including, machine running adjustments when required by manufacturing process, visual checking trimming and packing of products.
  • Assisting with mould changes, Complete production documentation.
  • Mass measuring and issuing of raw material including pigments to pre-determined quantities.
  • Coordinate and perform machine operational functions.
  • Ensure that product comply with standards, including Master samples.
  • Injection Moulding machine setter and robot setter
  • Coordinate and perform machine setting functions.
  • Ensure that product comply with standards, including Master samples. • Set mold’s, clamp mould’s, and quality control first offs and last of samples
  • • Take responsibility during machine stoppages or tool breakdowns to implement corrective actions or repair or rescheduling of production during day or nightshift in collaboration with the production manager.
  • Ensure machines always have enough material in correct area.
  • Make sure correct material is mixed according to job cards
  • Report any shortage of materials or masterbatch to supervisor
  • Ensure safe keeping of all raw materials
  • Make sure all job cards are filled in daily
  • Trimming by hand and or by power tools.
  • Repetition batch checking of plastic parts and components.
  • Does visual check on product.
  • Pack products in specified quantities or by weight.
  • Ensure that product comply to required quality standards.
  • Communicate any potential defect to your shift supervisor immediately.
  • Record machine performance as required on the “Production Control Sheet”
  • Take responsibility for safety devices on machines to ensure the safety of staff working in the plant during a shift and during tool changes.
  • Ensure that all Personal Protective Equipment rules are adhere to at all times. Ensure that Safe Housekeeping rules are adhere to at all times.

SALARY: The remuneration package will be in accordance with the PIMMS Group schedule of salaries
