Purpose of the Job

The Fire Fighter Trainer is responsible for identifying learning needs, developing training materials, and facilitating workforce learning interventions. The role ensures alignment with legal requirements, training authorities (IFSAC, QCTO), and company frameworks.

Key Accountabilities

  • Safety Compliance: Apply SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) best practices in all training activities.
  • Training Delivery: Facilitate both formal and on-the-job learning interventions using diverse methodologies.
  • Evaluation: Assess learning outcomes and knowledge transfer to ensure improved job performance.
  • Material Development: Create, revise, and update learning resources to meet training needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with teams and contribute to safety and operational improvements.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track progress against KPAs (Key Performance Areas) and PDP (Personal Development Plan) actions.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematical Literacy or equivalent/higher qualification.

Mandatory Certifications:

  • Fire Fighter 1 (NFPA 1001)
  • Fire Fighter 2 (NFPA 1001)
  • Level 3 First Aid
  • Hazmat Awareness (NFPA 1072/472)
  • Hazmat Operations (NFPA 1072/472)

Physical Requirements:

  • Medically fit as per Fire Fighter fitness level assessment.
