Drakenstein Municipality is a local municipality located in the Cape Winelands District of the Western Cape province in South Africa. It is an economic and tourism hub situated about a half-hour drive from Cape Town. The main towns within the municipality are Paarl, Wellington, Saron, and Gouda.

JOB PURPOSE:

• Manages the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the maintenance of the Arboretum, nursery, irrigation, weed and pest control and tree maintenance for the Parks section to accomplish immediate, short- and long-term service delivery objectives.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:

• Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably a National Diploma in Horticulture or related qualifications in facilities management

OTHER REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Code B drivers’ license
• Supervisory skills
• Communication skills
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel)
• Ability to give attention to detail
• Fluent in at least two official languages of the Western Cape
• Knowledge of project management principles

EXPERIENCE:

• 5-8 years relevant experience
