The Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) is one of the 21 SETAs mandated to facilitate skills development and training in different economic sectors of South Africa. TETA’s areas of operation cut across rail, aerospace, maritime, road freight, road passenger, taxi, freight handling, and forwarding and clearing subsectors. The authority is committed to ensuring that through the implementation of the National Skills Development Plan (NSDP) a pool of highly skilled, competitive, and competent individuals is developed and functions effectively within the transport sector.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Provide Support to Stakeholders
- Attend to all queries;
- Give stakeholders support by conducting Monitoring and Site Visits (with support from Executive Officer);
- Communicate with all relevant stakeholders on TETA processes and criteria;
- Internal and external Stakeholder Management;
- Increase Stakeholder participation.
Provincial/National Support to Stakeholders in the Sub Sector
- Coordinate and facilitate career exhibitions in the province;
- Conduct visits on the implementation of projects and MOUs.
Coordination of Payment in the Chamber
- Draft motivations and specifications to procure goods and services;
- Coordinate payment of travel claim/sitting allowance for chamber committee members;
- Liaise with Finance regarding DG payments.
Coordinate Administration of Projects in the Chamber
- Registration of DG applications and capturing on the DG application schedule;
- Recording and filing of received applications;
- Assist the ETDP with assessment of DG application;
- Assist the ETDP with compiling award letters and contracting.
Administration of SDF/Industries Forum
- Update and maintain SDF database;
- Communicate with industry regarding new developments;
- Administration of SDF workshops and industry forums;
- Preparation of workshop material and presentations;
- Conduct presentations at industry workshop and forums.
Implementation of MG
- Verification of supporting documents and assist the ETDP with MG assessment;
- Conduct site visits to monitor the implementation of WSP;
- Advice stakeholders and EO of gaps identified;
- Give recommendations where necessary to the stakeholders;
- Compile Site visit reports.
Implementation of DG
- Verify DG claim recorded in claims register;
- Assessments of DG claims within timeframes;
- Communicate gaps identified to stakeholders;
- Upload accurate project deliverables on to the TETA Document Management system;
- Assist ETDP in processing contract addendum, cancellation and surplus declaration;
- Verify learner agreements on the TETA system and ensure compliance.
Chamber Committee
- Effective co-ordination of meetings;
- Agenda confirmed with EO;
- Invitations circulated;
- Attendance and travel;
- Meeting packs compiled and circulated;
- Recording and circulating minutes of the meeting.
Chamber Administration
- Office Management.
Reporting
- Data consolidation and validation for accurate reporting;
- Reporting on prescribed templates and by due dates.
Training and Development
- Agree and identify goals with Intern;
- Coach and Mentor interns in the Unit;
- Implementation of personal development plans.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Qualification
- M + 3 qualification in ETD or relevant qualification;
- 5 years’ experience in administrative works;
- 3 years’ experience in the ETD environment;
- Overtime and travel.
