The Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) is one of the 21 SETAs mandated to facilitate skills development and training in different economic sectors of South Africa. TETA’s areas of operation cut across rail, aerospace, maritime, road freight, road passenger, taxi, freight handling, and forwarding and clearing subsectors. The authority is committed to ensuring that through the implementation of the National Skills Development Plan (NSDP) a pool of highly skilled, competitive, and competent individuals is developed and functions effectively within the transport sector.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Provide Support to Stakeholder
- Ensure communication of Corporate Communication and Marketing (CC&M) processes, procedures and plans development, implementation and compliance to the organisation;
- Ensure effective communication with stakeholders;
- Advise the organisation on CC&M related matters;
- Establish, manage and maintain external and internal stakeholders;
- Ensure effective implementation plan of the TETA stakeholder relations management strategy;
- Ensure effective execution of stakeholder relations meetings and events.
Corporate Communications and Marketing Unit Budget
- Analyse required information for budgeting purposes and provide inputs for approval;
- Provide input for budgetary processes;
- Monitor unit expenditure against budget.
TETA Communications and Marketing Strategic Planning
- Ensure implementation of the TETA Integrated Corporate Communications Strategy;
TETA Branding and Corporate Communications
- Ensure effective management of the TETA corporate communications and brand strategy implementation and measurement;
- Ensure effective execution of the internal and external communications;
- Ensure effective external stakeholders communication.
Public and Media Relations
- Ensure effective execution of the TETA public relations and media strategy;
- Ensure effective media relations;
- Ensure TETA media presence as required;
- Media monitoring and reporting.
Manage TETA Online Communications
- Ensure effective implementation of the TETA online communications strategy;
- Ensure effective management of the corporate website and other linked platforms systems branding standards.
Multimedia and Graphic Designing
- Ensure effective execution of design concept development, visual content creation and brand consistency.
Content and Editorial Management
- Manage the TETA’s digital and print content;
- Ensure approval of stories for TETA’s newsletters;
- Ensure comprehensive content plans for TETA’s digital communication platforms are created and approved;
- Provide overall management of the TETA Editorial Style Guide and ensure compliance;
- Ensure all corporate documents are professionally presented.
Reputation Management
- Manage and Monitor perception across TETA stakeholder base Manage Executive brand reputation;
- Manage crisis communication efforts to protect TETA’s reputation.
Management of Audit Queries and Outcomes
- Manage audit compliance and responding to queries within the stipulated timelines;
- Ensure no repeat findings in the AG management report and implement corrective actions on existing findings;
- Ensure no repeat findings in the internal audit report and implement corrective actions on existing findings.
Unit Reports
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
Management Responsibility
- Identify and monitor team and individual goals;
- Manage staff time, attendance and leave according to policy;
- Ensure completion of performance agreements and appraisals of self and staff on or before the due date;
- Manage/ monitor and check on personal development plans submission, approval and implementation;
- Ensure Job profiles are updated and signed annually;
- Ensure communication with staff and following up unit goals;
- Ensure no repeat findings in the AG management report and implement corrective actions on existing findings;
- Ensure no repeat findings in the internal audit report and implement corrective actions on existing findings;
- Monitor and check on employee capacity needs.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Qualification
- M + 3 qualification in Public Relations and/or Communications and/or Marketing or relevant qualification;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate communication and marketing in the corporate or public sector;
- Be prepared to work overtime and travel.
