Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is the public electricity utility that generates, transmits, and distributes approximately 90% of South Africa’s electricity. Owned entirely by the South African government, Eskom is overseen by the Minister of Electricity and Energy. It operates an extensive transmission network of power lines and cables, balancing the electricity supply and demand in real-time across the country. Since 2023, the National Transmission Company of South Africa (NTCSA), a subsidiary, operates the transmission system.

The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a public-private initiative aimed at creating work opportunities for unemployed youth in South Africa. Successful candidates will be placed in Eskom Operations across various divisions for structured on-the-job learning.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a South African citizen
• Aged between 18 and 34 years
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (post-matric certificate/programme advantageous)
• Should not have been permanently employed for more than one year with the same employer
• Should not be studying full-time in the year of employment
• Should not have participated in the YES initiative before
