The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) is meant for South African Citizens, Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders who are between the ages of 18 and 60 years, who have insufficient means, who do not receive social grants on behalf of herself/ himself or who are not contributing to or eligible for UIF payment, and have no financial support from any other source.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is inviting unemployed TVET College graduates to apply for its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme 2026 in Gauteng.
This valuable opportunity is designed for learners who have successfully completed their N6 qualification and require practical workplace experience to qualify for their National Diploma. The programme aims to assist TVET graduates who have been unable to secure workplace-based training opportunities necessary for graduation.
Successful applicants will be placed within various SASSA departments where they will gain hands-on experience, practical skills, and professional exposure in a government working environment.
Participants will receive a monthly stipend of R5,865.25 throughout the placement period.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the SASSA Work Integrated Learning Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be unemployed at the time of application.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Must possess the required N6 qualification relevant to the advertised position.
- Must be willing to work and complete the programme in Gauteng.
- Must submit a fully completed New Z83 Application Form.
- Must provide a comprehensive and updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
