The mission of the North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management is to provide effective coordination of crime prevention initiatives, provincial police oversight, traffic management and road safety towards a more secure environment.
The North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for its Graduate Internship Programme 2026/27.
This exciting government internship programme provides young graduates with an opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience within the public sector while developing professional skills and enhancing future employment prospects.
The department has made available 50 internship positions across several directorates at its Head Office in Mahikeng. Successful candidates will be appointed for a period of 24 months and will receive a monthly stipend of R8,174.75.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

- Must possess the relevant qualification for the internship applied for.
- Must not have previously participated in a government internship programme.
Applicants who have already benefited from a government internship programme will not be considered.
Applicants Awaiting Qualification Certificates
Graduates who have completed their studies but have not yet received their certificates may still apply.
Such applicants may submit:
- Academic transcripts.
- Official confirmation letter from their institution confirming successful completion of studies.
This provision allows recent graduates to participate in the programme without unnecessary delays.
