Job Purpose

The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide an administrative support service to the Senior Manager and Component.

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate 1 – 2 years post matric (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

Recommendation

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe PDF; Extensive experience in administrative support for large teams; Completed additional professional development courses; Proven ability in data capturing and report compilation; Skilled in minute-taking and effective communication with relevant stakeholders.

Key Performance Areas

Rendering administrative support services; Provide support to manager regarding meetings; Supports the manager with the administration of the budget; Analyse the relevant Public Service and departmental prescripts/policies and other documents and ensure that the application thereof is understood properly.

Remuneration

R 308 154 per annum (Salary level 7)

Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to attend interviews and a practical on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
