The company offers a full suite of services for the underground mining industry, including shaft sinking, mine development, raiseboring, and general underground construction.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric certificate/ equivalent
- A Section 13 Trade (Mechanical or Electrical) will be an advantage
- Certificate of Competency as a Raisebore Operator (recommended)
- Competency A & B will be an advantage
- Valid driver’s license & own reliable transport
- No criminal record, be able to successfully pass all SAPS and Client screening processes
- Medically Fit to work underground
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- 3 years’ underground experience as Raise Boring Operator (recommended)
- Raiseboring & drilling machines & systems
- Operation of Robotic Shaft Liner will be an added advantage
- Be able to work flexible hours and willing to relocate
- Be willing to work outside the borders of South Africa
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Checking all Health & Safety issues around your workplace, equipment, and subordinates
- Ensure the machine is assembled according to the procedures & Code of Practices as well as the manufacturer’s specifications
- Inspect the hanging wall & make sure that it is safe
- Check if eye bolts are secured
- Clean footwall in accordance with procedure & Code of Practices as well as the manufacturers specifications
- Line-up holes & drilling in accordance with marked spots, direction, procedure & Code of Practices as well as the manufacturers specifications
- Be able to work at heights
- Monitoring the performance of the machine ensuring optimal performance
- Ensure that the following daily maintenance is conducted in accordance with procedure & Code of Practices as well as the manufacturer’s specifications before commencing drilling:
- Routine maintenance of equipment, determining the causes of operating errors
- Hydraulic hoses & electric cabling to be suspended separately
- Electric pack doors to be kept closed to prevent water from entering electric pack
- No oil leaks on hydraulic power pack or machine
- Reporting of defects in equipment
- Monitoring & reporting malfunction of any device/ gauge on equipment
- Store equipment in a safe place on completion of drilling or on completion of working shift
- Be responsible and accountable for tools and equipment
