African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) is offering bursary opportunities for the 2026 academic year to support talented and dedicated students pursuing studies at the University of Limpopo.

This bursary aims to develop young South African talent, empower communities, and contribute to national skills development—particularly in fields critical to the mining and minerals sector.

Fields of Study Covered

Bursaries will be awarded for studies at the University of Limpopo within the following fields:

  • Environmental & Resource Studies (BSc)
  • Geography & Environmental Studies (BSc Honours)
  • Geology (BSc)
  • Geology (BSc Honours)
  • Mineral Processing and Ore Beneficiation (BSc Honours)
  • Mining Geology (BSc Honours)

What the ARM Bursary Covers

The African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) Bursary provides comprehensive financial support covering:

  • Registration fees
  • Tuition fees
  • Prescribed textbooks
  • Laptop
  • Accommodation at university residences
  • Meals

Selection Process

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 21 days after the closing date.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a panel interview and complete psychometric assessments before final selection.
  • If you do not receive feedback within 21 days after the closing date, please regard your application as unsuccessful.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the ARM Bursary 2026, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must have completed Matric.
  • Must be studying at the University of Limpopo.
  • Must be pursuing one of the approved qualifications listed above.
  • Must be in your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of study.
  • Must have a strong academic record.
  • Must not be receiving funding from any other bursary scheme.

Failure to meet all requirements will result in disqualification.

Required Supporting Documents

Applicants must submit clear, certified copies of the following documents (submission of all items is compulsory):

  1. South African ID document (certified copy)
  2. Matric certificate (certified copy)
  3. Full university academic record (on official university letterhead)
  4. University acceptance or registration letter (on official university letterhead)
