Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) SOC Ltd is a majority state-owned South African airport management company. Established in 1993, its primary mandate is to acquire, develop, provide, maintain, manage, and operate airports and related facilities within South Africa. As a state-owned entity, it is aligned with national goals to enable trade and tourism, facilitate economic growth, and support job creation. The company is involved in ongoing infrastructure investment, including a multi-billion rand capital expenditure plan to upgrade and expand its airports.

The ACSA Apprentice Programme 2025 is a unique opportunity for unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34 to gain technical training and workplace experience in the civil engineering environment.

The apprenticeship aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and technical competencies required in Civil, Bricklaying, and Plumbing trades. It combines both theoretical and hands-on learning components accredited by the relevant SETA.

Apprentices will spend:

  • 70% of their time in practical training at ACSA departments within the aviation environment, and
  • 30% in theoretical training at an accredited training centre.

Each apprentice will be assigned a mentor who will provide professional guidance throughout the programme to ensure successful completion and readiness for artisan roles.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be unemployed and a South African citizen.
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 34 years.
  • Hold a National Technical Certificate (N3 – N6) or S4 in Civil Engineering.
  • Be physically fit and have no criminal record.
  • Be fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
