The programme focuses on two high-demand trades within the heavy vehicle and mining industries:

• Diesel Mechanic
• Automotive Electrician

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the SG Coal Apprenticeship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be between 18 and 35 years old
• Have completed Grade 9 (with at least 50% in Mathematics and Science)
  or hold an NQF Level 1 qualification with 50% in Mathematics and Science
• Be unemployed and available for the full duration of the apprenticeship
• Be willing to undergo theoretical, practical, and workplace-based training
