Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies:

  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as a Concrete Batcher or in a similar role within a readymix or quarrying environment.
  • Proven knowledge of concrete mix designs, batching procedures, and quality control standards.
  • Computer literacy with experience using batching systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • Numerical accuracy and attention to detail in recording batch weights, moisture adjustments, and production data.
  • Reliable, honest, and motivated.
  • Safety-conscious, with a sound understanding of safety protocols and basic mechanical principles regarded as an advantage.
  • Medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):

  • Operate and monitor the batching plant to produce concrete according to approved mix designs and specifications.
  • Ensure accuracy in weighing and recording all materials used in the batching process.
  • Conduct regular checks on moisture content and adjust mixes as required to maintain product quality.
  • Coordinate with the Production and Technical to ensure timely and consistent concrete supply.
  • Perform daily plant inspections, report defects, and assist in minor maintenance or troubleshooting where necessary.
  • Maintain batching records, delivery notes, and other documentation in line with company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote a culture of safe work practices.
  • Assist with stock level monitoring of raw materials and report shortages promptly.
  • Uphold housekeeping standards in and around the batching area
