Illovo Sugar South Africa (Pty) Ltd is a leading producer of raw, brown, and refined sugar and syrup, as well as downstream products like ethyl alcohol and natural flavorants. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Illovo Sugar Africa group, which in turn is a division of the global food and retail group, Associated British Foods plc (ABF). The company sources 93% of its sugarcane from independent growers, with a strong focus on developing small-scale farmers in deep rural areas of KwaZulu-Natal. It also generates electricity for its operations using bio-renewable cane fibre residue (bagasse).

Finance Graduate Trainee Programme Overview

This 12-month Finance Graduate Trainee Programme is designed for young Finance graduates from previously disadvantaged groups who want to:

• Gain hands-on experience in a busy Finance Department
• Work in a high-performance manufacturing environment
• Build strong, workplace-ready financial skills

Successful candidates will be placed at:

• Illovo Eston Mill
• Illovo Noodsberg Mill

You will be exposed to real financial operations, reporting processes and internal controls in a complex industrial setting.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for the Illovo Finance Graduate Trainee Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Academic Requirements

• Completed Degree or Diploma in Finance
• Honours in Finance is beneficial but not compulsory
• CTA will be an added advantage

Skills and Attributes

Candidates must:

• Be able to work well under pressure
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office
• (Knowledge of accounting software will be an added advantage)
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
