Minimum Requirements
- Qualification: Degree in Occupational Therapy. Registration: Currently registered with the HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist (independent practice).
- Knowledge: Sound knowledge of general Occupational Therapy principles, including rehabilitation, assessment, and analysis.
- Sound knowledge of clinical theory practice and ethics relating to delivery of services within the vocational sector.
- Advantage: One (1) year community service experience completed.
- Experience in Vocational rehabilitation. Willingness to be trained in ergonomics exposure science, OHS, and functional comment assessments.
- Skills/Attributes: Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning, organizing, good interpersonal relations, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and under pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to employees in the physical field (assessment and treatment).
- Provide optimal and evidence-based vocational assessment and rehabilitation.
- Be competent in administering a wide range of vocational standardized assessments.
- Execute employee and departmental administrative tasks (data compilation, stock management, monthly reports).
- Plan and prepare for all internal and external audits.
- Participate in the mentorship and training of community service therapists and students.
- Implement departmental policy on training and continuous professional development (CPD).
