Cooperative Governance & Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) is a ministry in South Africa responsible for the Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) and the Department of Traditional Affairs (DTA). As of October 2025, Velenkosini Hlabisa is the Minister of CoGTA, appointed in June 2024.

Programme Overview

  • Contract: 12 months (non-renewable)
  • Placement: You’ll be assigned to a unit aligned to your qualification and career goals

Minimum Requirements

  • Recent graduate with a relevant National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
  • No prior internship/contract work in the Public Service or Private Sector (non-disclosure leads to disqualification/dismissal)
  • South African citizen
  • Strong motivation to work in public service
