Its primary mandate is to protect the public and the integrity of these professions. The SACSSP operates through three main functions: registration, education and training, and professional conduct. These involve requiring annual registration for professionals and students, setting qualification and development standards, and defining and enforcing ethical conduct.

The South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) is offering a six-month internship opportunity for a Graphic Design Intern to support its Communications Division. This role focuses on producing visual materials, strengthening brand identity, and enhancing the Council’s digital presence.

The internship offers a monthly stipend of R6000 and is ideal for creative graduates eager to gain practical experience within a professional communications environment.

Requirements

To qualify, applicants must have:

  • A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Canva)
  • Basic understanding of website design/management (WordPress, CMS, HTML/CSS)
  • Basic knowledge of social media design principles

Key Performance Areas

As a Graphic Design Intern, your duties will include:

  • Designing and developing visual materials for print and digital use
  • Supporting consistent branding across all platforms
  • Collaborating with the communications team to enhance SACSSP’s digital presence
  • Maintaining a well-organised archive of design assets
  • Assisting with SACSSP website updates and content maintenance
