Position Overview
Nurture Health is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join its rehabilitation team in Aurora, Eastern Cape. Reporting directly to the Nursing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, monitoring patient progress, and supporting rehabilitation outcomes through professional clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver Quality Patient Care
- Implement and coordinate individualised nursing care plans.
- Conduct ongoing patient assessments and monitor clinical progress.
- Identify and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
- Ensure nursing interventions align with rehabilitation goals and best practices.
- Promote patient safety and comfort throughout the rehabilitation journey.
Coordinate Nursing Activities
- Allocate and delegate nursing responsibilities effectively.
- Support and guide nursing staff in daily patient care activities.
- Maintain high standards of clinical practice and patient care delivery.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility protocols.
Medication and Clinical Management
- Administer medication safely and accurately according to prescribed treatment plans.
- Monitor patients for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Manage emergency equipment and ensure readiness for clinical emergencies.
- Participate in emergency response situations when required.
- Provide specialised wound care and continence management services.
Rehabilitation and Discharge Support
- Encourage patient participation in rehabilitation programmes.
- Work closely with therapists and other healthcare professionals to support recovery goals.
- Assist in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions from hospital to home or other care settings.
- Educate patients and caregivers on post-discharge care requirements.
Communication and Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
- Prepare detailed nursing reports and patient progress updates.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and care planning discussions.
- Provide education and support to patients and family members regarding treatment and rehabilitation goals.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications and Registration
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Valid registration and compliance with professional nursing standards.
Experience
- Proven experience caring for medically complex patients in a demanding clinical environment.
- Previous rehabilitation, acute care, sub-acute care, or hospital nursing experience will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple patient needs while maintaining exceptional standards of care.
